Composer / sound engineer for the indie game "Object 17"
Hello! I am developing my own 2D game "Object 17" — a detective adventure in the style of X-Files.
The game is my own pet project, I know how to program, have the desire and idea, but I lack a specialist who understands the concept and can help with the project.
Plot: an FBI agent receives an anonymous call about strange activity in an abandoned military laboratory from the Cold War era. (the style is associated with the TV series X-Files)
Currently, there is a demo version with AI-generated placeholder audio. I need a composer/sound designer to create quality sound design.
Scope of work for the demo:
Music (~4 tracks):
- Main menu (ambient, retro-terminal vibe)
- Cutscenes (mysterious, tense mood)
- Combat scene (intense electronic, DOOM style)
Ambient:
- Night exterior (crickets, wind)
- Dark interior of an abandoned building (dripping water, hum)
Sound effects:
- Footsteps, doors, elevator
- Shooting, reloading
- Alien sounds
Mood references: X-Files, Twin Peaks, Stranger Things, Silent Hill
Format: MP3, music should loop seamlessly.
What you get:
- Your name/username in the game credits with a link to your profile/portfolio
- The game will be published for free, you can use it in your portfolio
- Payment: let's negotiate, I do not plan to make a profit from the project, so I am investing from my own pocket, but I am ready to pay a fair price for your time.
- This is just a demo — after the release, I plan to continue development, so long-term collaboration is possible.
After agreeing on the terms, I will provide a link to a detailed technical specification with descriptions of each scene, timings, and current sounds.
Contact me with examples of your work or similar styles in your portfolio.

1943 50 0 Hello, Ivan! I am very interested in your project and I would be happy to participate in its implementation. I have an analytical mindset and a deep understanding of the psychology of sound, so I can create not just a background, but a truly anxious and mysterious atmosphere through sound. Just in case, I emphasize that I do not use artificial intelligence in music at all.
Given the format of the project and the closely aligned concept, I am ready to be flexible regarding the budget. The amount I mentioned is approximate — I am open to dialogue so that we can find comfortable conditions for both. The cost and other details will be discussed depending on the final scope of the terms of reference.

765 9 0 Hello. I just finished working on a similar project ("turkey", the same list of requirements: main soundtrack, sound design, but in a different genre). I really love game development and am well-versed in it; I can suggest something and come up with some ideas if needed. I am a professional musician, composer, and sound designer. You can check out some examples of my work in my portfolio on this site; I can send additional samples to listen to, so feel free to write. The deadlines and price I set are very approximate.

404 1 0 Hello!
The project "Object 17" resonated with me a lot — I love detective and mystical settings in the spirit of X-Files / Twin Peaks / Silent Hill. I am ready to join as a composer and sound engineer and help create a recognizable audio atmosphere for the game.
I have experience in creating sound design for games and interactive projects: music, ambient, SFX — all taking into account gameplay and cyclicity.
I can implement:
Music:
• main menu — ambient with a retro-terminal vibe
• cutscenes — tense, mystical atmosphere
• battle scenes — intense electronics / dark synth (in the spirit of DOOM)
Ambient:
… • night exterior (wind, crickets, distant noises)
• dark interior of the laboratory (hum, dripping water, industrial resonances)
SFX:
• footsteps, doors, elevator
• gunshots, reloading
• sounds of aliens / anomalies (sound design from scratch)
I work with atmosphere, tension, and a subconscious feeling of anxiety, not just with "background."
I create music in a way that it does not interfere with gameplay but enhances the mood.
• interested in long-term work after the demo
I am ready to familiarize myself with the detailed technical specifications
Portfolio:Google Drive
I would be happy to be part of the project.

3358 7 0 Hello, Ivan!
I was very inspired by the project idea — X-Files, abandoned laboratories, mysticism, and tension are exactly my direction.
I am a composer and sound engineer, working with atmospheric music and sound design for games, videos, and interactive projects. I can cover the entire block for the demo:
— ambient for the main menu with a retro/terminal vibe (seamless loop),
— tense narrative music for cutscenes,
— intense electronic battle scene (dark synth/DOOM approach, but without overload),
— atmospheric sound design: interiors, exteriors, footsteps, doors, elevator, gunshots, reloading, sounds of the "unknown."
… I work carefully with loops so that the music does not become tiring during long gameplay. I focus on X-Files, Twin Peaks, Silent Hill, Stranger Things — I understand well how to maintain tension without turning everything into constant noise.
I can start with one test track or scene so you can understand if we match in feeling, and after that, we can move forward with the demo. MP3 format, seamless looping — no problem.
I will send examples of works in the relevant styles in personal messages — feel free to reach out, I will be happy to show.
I would be glad to discuss the details and the terms of reference.

2511 9 0 Hello, Ivan!
Professional studio, 20+ years of experience in sound design.
I will do everything according to the plan: seamlessly looped music, dark vibe, all sound effects.
I can create music closer to the latest Doom, rather than the classic: electronics with live "heavy" guitars in a low tuning. I have a voice and a cool microphone, I can voice the monsters))).
Ready for creativity.

391 2 0 My name is Bohdan, I am a composer and sound engineer, specializing in sound design for games, films, and interactive projects. I was very inspired by the idea of "Object 17" — X-Files, mysticism, abandoned laboratories, and retro anxiety — this is my vibe 100%.
🔊 How I can be useful to the project:
Writing ambient and narrative music with seamless looping
Dark, atmospheric sound design (interiors, exteriors, tension, the unknown)
Electronic battle music with intensity in the style of DOOM / dark synth
…
Complete SFX package: footsteps, mechanisms, weapons, elevator, creatures
Professional processing and volume balancing for gameplay
🎼 In terms of style:
X-Files / Twin Peaks / Silent Hill / Stranger Things — I work with analog synths, drones, noises, glitch, and retro-terminal textures. It is important that the sound serves the story, not just "plays in the background."
🎮 I have experience working with games and student films, I have a good understanding of the pipeline iterations, placeholder → final. I love pet projects where there is an idea and atmosphere, not just a brief.
