Hello! Our team is looking for a talented, detail-oriented, and reliable 3D modeler/sculptor (3D Character Artist) for long-term, stable, and step-by-step collaboration for a whole year (from July 2026 to July 2027). Our focus is on creating large-scale historical miniatures for high-quality photopolymer 3D printing (resin) at a scale of 1/32.
About the project scope for the year:
The project consists of 5 large-scale episodes (unique battle scenes):
Episode 1: Contains exactly 27 unique character miniatures.
The following episodes (a total of 5 for the year): Each will contain from 27 to 34 unique miniatures.
Props: For each episode, it will be necessary to produce from 13 to 21 units of props (anatomically correct horses, carts, fallen trees, elements of specific terrain, etc.).
Distribution of complexity and detailing requirements:
Special attention (About 20% of the project): It will be necessary to recreate several specific historical figures. These are well-known military officers, so there will be a maximum focus on portrait likeness, accuracy of military insignia, ornaments, specific patterns, and textures of uniforms.
The main mass (About 80% of the project): For the remaining characters (extras, regular soldiers, civilians), there will be no strict requirements for accuracy of appearance. The main task for these 80% of figures is to convey correct anatomy and the main emotion and lively facial expression, which will be indicated in the reference drawing (no static "mannequins").
Reliability: This is a basic, natural factor. We are looking for a person who does not disappear, meets deadlines, and keeps their word.
How we optimize work and why it is beneficial for you:
We do not require the creation of each figure from scratch. For detailed study and to ease the work, we offer a ready-made scheme — a breakdown of the matrix into parts (constructor principle). For example, by developing a few basic models of horses or soldier torsos, you will be able to combine and change their poses, heads, or arms, which will significantly speed up the creation of subsequent figures and save your efforts.
I am a professional restorer. I provide full instruction and personally teach how to properly structure such large, massive, and complex objects. If you have no experience in large projects but have talent and a solid foundation — I will structure you. From our side, you will receive perfect sketches, uniform layouts, and detailed pattern plans.
Selection conditions:
The price-to-quality ratio is the main factor in the decision-making process. Since the project is fully funded by us personally, we are looking for a reasonable and realistic balance in pricing for a volume of over 100 figures per year.
How we start:
We build the work step by step: one figure — execution — payment — next task. We will start with one test miniature (sketch attached), where the pose is simple, but it is necessary to clearly show the complex historical ornament of the warrior.
This warrior, whose example I am attaching, is a copy of a real historical figure — an Iroquois warrior. His face is well-known and recognizable to most historians, and the painting depicting him is kept in the national museum. The warrior has a name, and in this specific case, the accuracy of reproducing the image and details must be 100%.
I repeat that in the entire large project there will be both much more complex miniatures and significantly simpler ones. If we evaluate on a complexity scale from 1 to 10, this first test miniature has a rating of 4.
Therefore, it is important for us that you take on this project only when you are completely confident that this is "your" topic. We are looking for a person who will gain not only financial reward from this process but also true professional satisfaction from their work.
Please leave feedback with links to your portfolio (must include examples of sculptures of people or animals) and indicate the approximate price you see for one basic figure, considering our volume and the ready-made constructor system.
We are waiting for a master to join our team!
