Tile server setup
I will describe generally what is needed, ask other questions to expand the context.
Required:
- Tile server in vector format
- Tile style OSM Bright
- Nominatim with reverse geocoding
- Overpass
- Nginx
- Configured service for map updates (separate container with CRON)
- Prometheus (for load analysis, there is a separate server with Grafana that will read data)
- Test front-end with MapLibre GL
- Need to think about preventing maps from being used by everyone (anything that can be found through the network is not suitable as protection. I have an idea to block requests by domain, different keys, headers, but it won't help)
- Everything should be open source and from official repositories to ensure it doesn't die over time
- All should be in bash scripts (or several)
- Documentation for setup, explanation of config files, etc. Can be generated via AI, just make sure it will be understandable.
It is highly desirable that everything is in containers and separated by entities
Region - Europe. If you make a config that allows adding countries gradually and almost seamlessly (this is possible)
For speed, take a small country for import.
Please respond if you work with maps. Those who want to do everything from scratch without understanding, just with AI - you won't succeed with any model - we've been through this.
