Понятное дело что при таком количестве анимации сайт будет тяжелым. При возможности можно будет чтото улучшить или же просто хотя бы добавить прелоадер

Там проблема не в анимация а в оптимизации целом. Фото которое на сайте 200на200, реальный размер фото 1920на1080
После посадки на ВП сайт будет грузится ещё в 2 раза больше. И будут предъявы разработчику а не верстальщику. По этому говорю и спрашиваю, исходя из своего опыта

Что бы не было предъяв, разработчик должен выводить миниатры изображений, а не изначальный размер изображения.

это как пример. само фото по 2метра висит.
я делал акцент про оптимизации верстки целиком. семантики особо нету, вложенность по классам бешенная.
все что можно было бы сделать спрайтом или хотя бы свг - сделанно через обычные png
