I have n8n deployed in Docker (Ubuntu 24.04, VPS).
There is network access on the host, but external DNS does not resolve inside the n8n container (for example, api.openai.com).
Because of this, the integration with OpenAI and Apify does not work.
What needs to be done:
Check and fix the network settings of the n8n Docker container.
Configure access to external APIs (OpenAI, Apify, Google Sheets, etc.).
Explain (briefly) what was changed so that I understand.
Requirements:
Experience with Docker and docker-compose.
Understanding of DNS configuration inside containers.
Experience with Ubuntu 20+/24+.
Access:
— VPS on Ubuntu 24.04 (root access).
— docker-compose.yml.
Expected result:
Domains resolve inside the n8n container (ping/curl api.openai.com works).
