Task: automatic generation of PDF documents with a unique number and barcode
I am looking for a specialist in PDF automation / working with vector files.
There is a ready-made PDF document in vector format (the entire design is fully prepared).
It is necessary to implement the automatic generation of a series of documents (approximately 100–500 files), where:
In each file, the unique document number changes (numbering in order or from a table).
The document contains a barcode.
The barcode must encode a link or number that leads to a web page.
When scanning the barcode, a page opens where the number also corresponds to the document number (dynamic substitution).
As a result, you need to obtain:
either 500 separate PDF files
or one PDF with 500 pages
or a script/solution that I can use to generate such documents myself.
Important:
The document is already fully prepared — no need to redo the layout.
Automation is specifically needed (script, InDesign Data Merge, Python, Illustrator scripting, or another solution).
It is preferable that the solution can be scaled (if 2000 documents are needed instead of 500).

I propose to create a standalone script in Python (libraries PyMuPDF + python-barcode).
How it works: The script takes your vector PDF template and an Excel table (with numbers and links). Then it "on the fly" generates a barcode for each row and overlays it along with the text at precise coordinates on top of the template.
Scalability: 500 or 5000 files — for the script, this is a matter of a few seconds. It can output either a folder with separate PDFs or one merged file (we will customize it for you).
