Pixel art designer for the indie game "Object 17"
Hello! I am developing my own 2D game "Object 17" — a detective adventure in the style of X-Files.
The game is my own pet project, I can program, I have the desire and the idea, but I lack a designer who understands the concept and can help with the project.
Plot: an FBI agent receives an anonymous call about strange activity in an abandoned military laboratory from the Cold War era. (the style is associated with the TV series X-Files)
Currently, there is a demo version with AI-generated placeholder sprites. I need a designer to replace them with quality pixel art.
Scope of work for the demo:
- Main character (agent in a suit) — top-down and side view, walking/idle animations
- Enemy (alien) — running and death animations
- Environment objects: warehouse, doors, windows, elevator, trash can, car
- Tilesets for two locations (outside and inside the building)
- Several slides for cutscenes in comic style
Technically:
- Basic character size: 48x48 px
- Style: dark, atmospheric, night
- Format: PNG with transparency
What you get:
- Your name/nickname in the game credits with a link to your profile/portfolio
- The game will be published for free, you can use it in your portfolio
- Payment: let's negotiate, I do not plan to make a profit from the project, so I am making an investment from my own pocket, but I am ready to pay a fair price for your time.
- This is just a demo — after the release, I plan to continue development, so long-term collaboration is possible.
After agreeing on the terms, I will provide a link to a detailed technical specification with all sizes, references, and current sprites for understanding the style.
