Application for configuring the Windows registry

Project Name:

Customizable application for managing the registry and quick access to essential Windows tools.

Project Goal:

Create a portable application for configuring the Windows registry with the ability to add, modify, and delete keys, as well as quick access to the most important Windows tools.

Functional Requirements:

1. Main registry management functionality:

   • Adding new registry keys and values.
   • Modifying existing keys and values.
   • Deleting keys and values.
   • Retrieving current key values.
   • Saving and loading registry settings as profiles (export/import).
   • Registry change history with rollback capability.

2. Additional functionality: quick access to essential Windows tools:

   • In the main application window, add a section with buttons to open frequently used Windows tools (customizable list):
     • Control Panel
     • Windows Settings
     • Device Manager
     • Disk Management
     • Task Manager
     • VPN Settings
     • User Account Management
     • Local Group Policy Editor
     • Certificates Editor (MMC)
     • Event Viewer
     • Services (services.msc)
     • System Configuration (msconfig)
     • Network Connections
     • Task Scheduler
   • Ability to edit the list of tools through settings (add new commands and paths).

3. Interface:

   • User-friendly graphical interface with tree view of the registry.
   • Key search function.
   • Toolbar for quick access to Windows functions.

4. Portable version:

   • The application does not require installation and runs from a single folder.

Technical Requirements:

1. Development Language:

   • C# or Python.

2. Platform:

   • Windows (versions from Windows 10 and above).

3. Additionally:

   • Logging of registry changes.
   • Ability to auto-start the application.

Confidentiality and Source Code Transfer:

1. The contractor transfers the complete source code of the application with comments to the client.
2. The contractor is not allowed to use the application in their portfolio or advertise it.
3. The source codes of the application are deleted from the contractor's possession after transfer.
