Послушай дружеский совет: сначала обновись до джумла 2.5 У меня уже были проблемы с безопасностью на 1.5, и потом много гемора. Полторушка больше не поддерживается разработчиком.

Да не поддерживается, но не смотря на это людям дешевле исправить маленький косяк чем полностью переносить и перепиливать весь сайт...Я делал неоднократно обновление на 2,5 и уж поверь у ресурса у которого много контента, это не так быстро и просто
