Ограничений нет, сенсорная кнопка подаст сигнал на выход, я должен получить его на любом gpio ESP, дизайна тоже нет, есть лишь идея.
Меня устроит любое исполнение, это просто должно работать 😁

Сенсорная будет работать через тонкий пластмассовый корпус.
ttgo подходит, вы абсолютно правы, но не хочется использовать полностью готовый модуль

Как я понимаю у вас пока на стадии "сам не знаю что в итоге" а значит готовое устройсво в приоритете
А вот когда в поле уже все тонкости утрясутся и станет понятно что нужно, какой формы и тд, вот тогда можно думать за плату (плата в первыю очередь делается ради форм-фактора и удешевления)
А за кнопку используйте обычные и не переживайте. Для зашиты от воды силиконовая мембрана, которую можно прямо на корпусе отлить дома монолитно.
С сенсорными много подводных, из основного - важно что бы статика с корпуса снималась и грязь или влага уже будет неадекватно обрабатыватся
