I have hands-on experience with Tuya/BK7231 devices — both with the Tuya IoT platform (configure DataPoints, branded apps) and with custom firmware (OpenBeken, Tasmota, ESPHome) for exiting the Tuya ecosystem.
A fundamental question: do you want to remain within the Tuya infrastructure (Tuya cloud, Tuya app/OEM) or transition to your own solution (your backend, custom firmware)?
This answer will determine the approach and cost. These are different paths with different costs, complexity, and trade-offs.
