Family therapy work

Based on the studied theoretical approaches in working with couples, they will begin to work on

creating a presentation that specifies a particular approach and techniques that they

can apply with the family to improve relationships/communication within it.

The presentation should look as if the student will actually conduct a

group training for couples for one hour. This is approximately 20

slides. 

They will also explore at least one theory

of family counseling of their choice or describe a number of theories and techniques of family

counseling that appeal to them the most. In doing so, the student should

consider the following aspects:

• the history of the development of this theory / and the techniques included in this theory

• who is the founder / founders of this theory

• the main theoretical aspects of the theory / techniques,

• Within the chosen theory, describe a plan for helping goals and sub-goals for working with

the couple

• Adhering to the chosen theory, describe a model of family counseling,

based on a specific example/case. Describe the step-by-step application of the

chosen model, indicating specific methods and techniques that you want

to apply during meetings with the couple at different stages of therapy

• indicate the strengths and weaknesses that you believe exist in this method, and provide

justification for why you think so,

The work should be 17 pages of printed text and comply with the rules

for writing written works
