Goal: to create standardized compact elements from which various customizable furniture can be assembled, allowing for changes in leg height, width, backrest angle, and seating.
Concept: the user purchases the necessary number of building elements and independently assembles the required furniture, changing its shape as needed (leg height, width, etc.).
Imagine "furniture lego," where the building elements are several times larger than "lego" ones, have a different shape, and there are only 5 types. You can choose, for example, a chair on the website, and you will receive a package with building elements from which you will independently assemble the chair. At the same time, you will be able to make shorter legs, several options for backrest tilt, and so on.
In the future, you can reorder building elements, taking into account the existing ones, disassemble the chair, and assemble a sofa. Or disassemble the chair, pack it, and transport it to another apartment, where you can assemble it again.
Therefore, it is necessary to explore possible geometric shapes of the building elements, options for fastenings, select the most suitable ones, and develop building elements (no more than 5) from which, among other things, it is possible to assemble: a chair, an armchair, a table, a sofa, a bedside table, a wardrobe.
The size of one leg element, backrest up to 30x30x30 mm, the size of the tabletop element, the door of the bedside table, wardrobe up to 50x50x10 mm.
The building elements must be able to connect firmly and disconnect if necessary. The connection occurs without additional means, such as screws, bolts, etc.
The shape of the building elements must also allow for assembling a backrest, seating, in a curved shape (angle from 5 to 30 degrees), and changing the height of the furniture.
The material from which the elements will be made in the future is wood, plastic.
Existing or anticipated positioning: customizable furniture, the production of which is based on recycling technology.
Main competitive advantages: mini-modularity allows for assembling furniture that is necessary right now in this room, tailored specifically for you. When not needed, in disassembled form, they take up minimal space.
Target audience of the design object: modern people who value functionality and care about the environment.
Style of the design object: minimalism.
The task execution is 3D visualization of the building elements, development of files for each element, according to which each element can be printed on a 3D printer.
