Good day! Thank you for the inquiry — the task of building a forecasting and sales optimization model for retail sounds very specific. I have practical experience in developing and implementing ML/AI solutions and working with large datasets (ETL, feature engineering, production deployment, quality monitoring).
What I propose at the start:
a short data audit (sources, quality, gaps, seasonality, promo/price changes);
selection of the approach (classical: SARIMAX/Prophet/GBM; or DL/AutoML depending on the volume and frequency of data);
designing metrics (MAPE/SMAPE, uplift from optimizing assortment/discounts/inventory);
MVP with A/B validation and further implementation (API/dashboard).
