We Drevos International, produce smart smokers. We need a developer with experience in Raspberry Pi and cloud services.
We are currently integrating Raspberry Pi inside the smoker — the device is already set up to control its main components.
Approximately what is needed:
– Set up kiosk-mode on Raspberry Pi (automatic launch of the interface without system screens).
– Implement cloud connectivity for data transmission and remote control of the device.
In the future, we plan to control the smoker through a mobile application that will work with cloud infrastructure.
Additional questions:
– Do you handle interface design, or do you have a designer on your team? Right now we only have a wooden prototype.
– Do you have experience or know developers who can help with creating a mobile application for controlling the smoker?

I am a C++/Qt developer with extensive experience in Linux administration. Raspberry Pi is essentially a Linux computer, so my experience in developing desktop applications is perfectly suited here.
How I will implement this:
Interface (GUI): I will develop the application in Qt (C++). This is the "gold standard" for embedded screens. It works quickly, reliably, and looks professional.
Kiosk Mode: I will configure systemd services in Linux so that your application starts instantly at boot, hiding the OS loading. The user will only see the smoker menu.
… Cloud: I will implement data transmission (status, temperature) to the server via REST API or MQTT.
Regarding your questions:
Design: I can create a clean and functional interface on my own. If complex graphics are needed, I work alongside a professional UI/UX designer (this is included in the cost).
Mobile application: At this stage, I will prepare the API on the Raspberry Pi side so that the future mobile application can easily connect to it.
Important: I am located in Germany, so I have quick access to any equipment for testing.
Timeline and Plan (30 days): I am setting a realistic timeframe for quality "turnkey" work:
Week 1: Ordering and delivery of Raspberry Pi (3-5 days). Concurrently — developing the interface design.
Weeks 2-3: Writing code (Qt/C++), configuring Kiosk mode and cloud integration.
Week 4: Final stability testing (24/7 run-test) and project delivery.
