gekko-kids.cz is built on the Czech SaaS platform Eshop-rychle.cz (you can see their footer and static.golemos.com CDN). This is a closed platform for the Czech market, and licenses are not granted outside of CZ, so replicating it as a platform for a new store is impossible. Fortunately, this is not necessary; the client needs a visually similar store, not a clone of the backend itself.
What I propose: Next.js 14 + Shopify Storefront API + Vercel.
Why this stack instead of WooCommerce:
- Shopify handles the entire backend: products, orders, checkout, payments, inventory. You do not need to separately maintain a server, database, SSL, or backups. The admin panel is already ready, and your managers will be able to add products without a developer.
- Next.js frontend is fast through server components and edge rendering, SEO-ready out of the box, and custom features can be added without rewriting the core.
- Importing products from pellet-legnami.it. This is a Shopify store, and it has a public JSON endpoint /products.json, through which you can retrieve the catalog of the "camerette-per-bambine" category and transfer it to your Shopify admin via CSV import. A script for this will take 1-2 hours of work.
- Vercel's free tier will cover the frontend hosting, and Shopify Basic at 29 EUR/month will cover the backend. This is cheaper for the client than WooCommerce + hosting.
