1. About the project
We are looking for an experienced Senior WordPress / WooCommerce / Stripe developer to complete and finalize the payment infrastructure of our recently created online store.
Our site is built on WordPress using WooCommerce. We sell digital educational products from Europe, including:
- 20-minute video trainings
- Individual coaching sessions
- PDF materials
The site, products, and checkout are already created. WooCommerce, Stripe, and Stripe Tax are already installed and partially configured.This is NOT a new site development project.This is NOT a new WooCommerce implementation.
Your role is to professionally audit the existing implementation, complete the setup, verify VAT compliance, test the entire checkout process, and provide a production-ready payment system. This is an urgent project with a strict deadline of 24 hours.
2. Technical environment
Current platform:

Available functionality includes:
- Products
- User accounts
- Checkout
- Stripe integration
- Tax settings
The goal is to review, complete, verify, and test the existing implementation, not to build from scratch.
3. Important VAT information
Our company is already voluntarily registered as a VAT payer in Cyprus. We already have:
- Active VAT registration in Cyprus
- Active Cypriot VAT number
- Stripe account
- Stripe Tax Basic
- WooCommerce
The selected developer will receive documentation from our tax consultant. The implementation must comply with our current VAT registration status and the VAT logic provided by our consultant.
SCOPE OF WORK
1. Technical audit
Review the existing implementation, including:
- WooCommerce settings
- WooCommerce tax settings
- Stripe configuration
- Stripe Tax
- Product tax codes
- Checkout process
- Tax logic for customers
- Existing plugins
- Invoicing system
- Email notifications
- Coupons
- Bundle discounts
- Stripe webhooks
- API configuration
Before making changes, provide a brief report:
- what is set up correctly;
- what needs correction;
- what changes you plan to make.
2. Price settings
Set up products as follows:
- Video training: €79 + VAT
- Individual coaching session (90 minutes): €200 + VAT
- PDF templates: €19 + VAT
The site should display prices excluding VAT, showing: €79 + VAT
VAT should be calculated automatically during checkout based on:
- customer's country;
- customer type;
- applicable VAT rules.
3. VAT settings
Review and configure VAT according to the current Cypriot VAT registration. Checkout must correctly distinguish:
- B2B customers
- B2C customers
- Customers from the EU
- Customers outside the EU
- Businesses with a valid VAT number
- Businesses without a VAT number
Implement:
- VAT validation via VIES
- Determination of customer country
- Billing country
- Customer type
- VAT number validation
- IP address logging, where applicable
- Storing VAT evidence, where applicable
The implementation must remain compliant with future OSS requirements.
4. Stripe and payments
Review and verify:
- Stripe
- Stripe Tax
- Card payments
- International payments
- Checkout
- Payment confirmation
- Refund process
- Order processing
- Email notifications to customers
5. Discounts
Set up a flexible discount system that supports:
- Bundle discounts
- Meta Skills packages
- Promo codes
- Discount codes
- Percentage discounts
- Fixed discounts
Please recommend the most reliable implementation compatible with WooCommerce.
6. Invoicing system
Review and update the invoicing system. Invoices must include:

Communication
The selected developer must:
- Sign an NDA (non-disclosure agreement) and start immediately.
- Be available for communication within the next 24 hours.
- Join the shared team chat.
- Coordinate work with our front-end and back-end developers.
- Immediately ask questions if anything is unclear.
- Regularly provide updates on progress throughout the project.
Security requirements
Before making any changes:
- Ensure there is a current backup (or create one if necessary).
- Do not replace plugins without prior agreement.
- Do not install paid plugins without agreement.
- Do not disclose API keys or credentials.
- Do not implement temporary solutions without agreement.
Code quality
We expect a production-ready implementation. Any custom code must adhere to best practices for WordPress and WooCommerce and remain maintainable for future developers.
Acceptance criteria
The project will be considered complete only if:
- Checkout works correctly.
- Stripe works correctly.
- Stripe Tax works correctly.
- VAT calculations are correct.
- Invoices are generated correctly.
- Email notifications to customers are sent correctly.
- Discounts work correctly.
- No PHP errors remain.
- No JavaScript errors remain.
- No WooCommerce warnings remain.
- No Stripe errors remain.
- All testing scenarios are successfully completed.
- The site remains fully functional after implementing changes.

After signing our NDA, we will provide administrative access.
