Video editing for YouTube - A hiking experience
I'm looking for a video editor for a YouTube video about solo hiking
What is available:
— Video and photos from three sources: iPhone, GoPro, DJI 3S
— Voice comments recorded during the hike (in English)
— A ready script with a breakdown by acts and timecodes (can be discussed and changed according to the editor's vision)
Important: all my comments on the video are in English. The language is not perfect, but quite understandable (there is also a transcription of all videos with text) The editor must have a good understanding of English, as the structure of the video is built around what I say on camera — emotions, reactions, reflections after the hike. Without understanding the context of the speech, it will be very difficult to assemble the story
The story has a clear dramatic arc: arrival in the hiking region + overnight stay in a hotel + shooting the area with a drone -> the next morning: preparation → ascent → crisis (the hike turned out to be quite difficult, especially for a beginner like me, resulting in a lot of stress that I got lost + panic attack, micro-injury) → return → reflection. There is a combination of: (landscapes + the author's initial experience as a beginner in the world of hiking, so the presence of mistakes and some things I didn't think about when preparing + reflection during the hike + solitude + happy ending + thoughts about new experiences on the way home)
What I want to receive:
— A final video approximately 15–25 minutes (duration is flexible, I trust the editor's vision)
— Minimalist editing that conveys emotions and atmosphere, rather than being overloaded with effects
— Selection of background music to match the mood of the scenes
— Subtitles (in English)
— Color correction and sound processing (if needed, because I'm not sure about the quality. I think there is definitely a lot of noise due to heavy breathing and shooting on the go)
As a style reference — Anton Ptushkin's videos: pleasant visuals, sound, emotionality, humor, minimalism.
How we will work:
— This is my first experience using freelance services for such work, so we can discuss the terms of cooperation
But I believe there should be some intermediate stages and agreed conditions for phased payment (I just don't want to have a situation where the project costs X UAH and I have to pay those X UAH at the end, when I have no idea if I like what the video editor has done)
I have a small YouTube channel, as my hobby, which has a small number of videos about nature and adventures, without text, just sound.
So this project will be the first for such a high level (a mini film about the adventures of a beginner hiker 🙂
This project could be the beginning of a long collaboration with a video editing specialist (There is a desire to shoot more)
