Execution of tasks in Proteus 8 Professional?

Task:

It is necessary to perform the complete work related to modeling rectifiers in the Proteus environment. The work includes creating several electrical circuits, simulating them, analyzing time characteristics, and conducting additional research according to the methodological guidelines.

1. Modeling a Single-Phase Half-Wave Rectifier

It is required to:

• create a circuit with the elements: resistor, capacitor, diode, SINE generator;

• correctly set the generator parameters according to the provided example;

• add an oscilloscope and perform the simulation;

• obtain the oscillograms of current and voltage;

• explain why there are time discrepancies between current and voltage;

• build a time diagram using the GRAPHS → ANALOGUE tool;

• move the probes on the diagram, adjust its properties, and show the result;

• change the generator voltage to 100 V, perform a re-simulation, and explain what changes occurred;

• give a conclusion: under what conditions it is beneficial or unbeneficial to use silicon diodes.

2. Two-Phase Half-Wave Rectifier

It is required to:

• assemble a circuit with two diodes and two SINE generators that form a two-phase system;

• set the parameters of the sources according to the instructions;

• perform the simulation;

• output and show the oscillograms of currents and voltages in the circuit.

3. Single-Phase Full-Wave Rectifier

It is required to:

• add a transformer TRAN-2P2S (1:1) for galvanic isolation;

• build the corresponding full-wave rectification circuit;

• set the source voltage within 5–15 V;

• perform the simulation and obtain the voltage at the load.

4. Modeling the Operation of a Capacitive Filter

It is required to:

• open the single-phase half-wave rectifier circuit;

• add a capacitor, as in the example (initial capacitance 5 µF);

• set the load R = 2 kΩ;

• perform the simulation and show the obtained diagram;

• change the capacitance to 15 µF — repeat the simulation, show the changes;

• change the capacitance to 150 µF — repeat the simulation, show the changes;

• analyze how the increase in capacitance affects the ripple.

5. Calculation of Filter Capacitance

It is required to:

• perform the calculation of the capacitor capacitance that will ensure 0.5 V ripple;

• verify this calculation with a simulation in Proteus.
