I have a small online gift shop focused on a male foreign audience — LoveGifts.com.ua
About six months ago, the site started receiving non-targeted bot traffic regularly, which began to affect its performance. The hosting periodically shut down the site due to increased load, automatically activating the I'm Under Attack mode.
At that time, the developer was still able to help and configured LiteSpeed Cache, after which the problem significantly decreased. However, in the last 2–3 weeks, the situation has repeated: the hosting again detects increased load (suspicious traffic) and shuts down the site, simultaneously indicating possible optimization issues.
Additionally, Cloudflare was connected (configured without deep experience). When enhancing protection, a problem arose with payment processing (Monobank acquiring), so the protection was partially weakened and the bank's IP was added to the whitelist.
After that, the bot load again began to affect the site. For several consecutive days, the hosting automatically turned on/off the I'm Under Attack mode every 2–3 minutes.
For the last ~1.5 days, the site has been running stably, but I understand that this is temporary and the problem is not resolved.
Task - to configure protection and traffic processing in such a way that:
— bot load does not affect the site's operation
— the site operates stably without shutdowns
— payments (Monobank) are processed correctly
— protection is unobtrusive for regular users (without captchas, additional checks, delays)
I will consider both correct Cloudflare configuration and other solutions for stabilization.
