Portfolio website for content creator Andrey Burda

Website Development
Job 1 of 6
Task

Create a multi-page website to showcase the work of a content creator – photos, videos, social media content, and advertising cases. Use the CMS WordPress platform and the premium theme purchased by the client – Aoki. The domain name and hosting have also been pre-purchased and provided by the client.

The website must be trilingual – in Ukrainian, English, and Czech. The pages should be filled with demo content. The site must meet requirements for responsiveness across all devices, browsers, and operating systems, as well as fast loading times. All video files in the portfolio should open with a lightbox effect. The site should have buttons with links to the owner's social media and a phone number.

The project consists of the following pages and subpages:

- Home
- About Me
- Portfolio:
- Photos
- Videos
- Social Media
- Advertising
- Contacts

The client provided a design layout for all website pages with demo content, as they envision it, created in Claude.ai.

Additional Tasks

Use the branded font provided by the client.

After creating the website, provide the client with instructions on how to fill the portfolio with content.

Implementation Tools

The following tools were used for the project:

- platform – CMS WordPress;
- theme – Aoki;
- page builder WPBakery (included in the theme);
- Firelight Lightbox plugin – lightbox effect for videos;
- Polylang plugin – multilingual support;
- Loco Translate plugin – translation of theme elements from English to Ukrainian and Czech.

Work Progress and Result

The work began with the installation of WordPress on the client's domain and hosting, as well as the installation and activation of the premium theme. The client provided activation keys and other necessary data.

Then, the Ukrainian version of the homepage was created, similar to the provided layout from Claude.ai. WPBakery blocks were used for implementation. The page was demonstrated to the client, after which they made several edits that were immediately implemented. Some edits required custom CSS styles.

Further work was then completed – all other pages were implemented, as well as multilingual support. To achieve optimal responsiveness for mobile and desktop versions, separate versions of some blocks were created.

Using the Loco Translate plugin, some design elements of the theme were translated into the necessary languages – from English to Ukrainian and Czech.

The client provided their branded font, which was installed on the site using WordPress tools and connected via CSS code. After that, the font was successfully applied across all pages.

Particular attention was required for the Videos page, where videos with a 9:16 aspect ratio needed to be placed, opening in a lightbox. The grid was created using WPBakery blocks, and the lightbox was implemented using the Firelight Lightbox plugin and special opening code. Videos are sourced from YouTube.

As a result, the website burda.marketing was created, which received minor edits after being demonstrated to the client, and the project was completed.
