Laundry services | Complex SEO audit and on-page optimization /
Boosting Visibility for a London Laundry Service
About the Client and Goals
Company: Hamlet Laundry Ltd.
Region: London, United Kingdom.
Goals: The primary objective was to enhance the website's On-Site optimization to improve search engine rankings, increase organic traffic, and generate more customer inquiries.
Stages of Work
Comprehensive Website Audit
A detailed audit was conducted, covering technical, on-page, commercial, and content aspects. The key findings and recommendations included:
Technical SEO:
Duplicate Content: Numerous blog pages were creating duplicate content issues, requiring the implementation of rel="canonical" tags to point to the main service pages. Canonical tags on other key pages needed to be removed to ensure they were indexed correctly.
URL Structure & Redirects: Inconsistent URL structures (with and without trailing slashes "/") were identified. A 301 redirect was recommended to standardize all URLs to the non-slash version. SEF URLs for key business and service pages were also recommended for an update.
Crawlability: The robots.txt file was updated to optimize crawling budget and prevent indexing of non-essential pages like tags, login pages, and old blog archives. A new XML sitemap was generated to include all important service, hotel, and laundry shop pages.
