Setting up FB Pixel + Conversion API
The client reached out with an issue of incorrect tracking: the Facebook Pixel was improperly configured, events were not being transmitted, and the dataLayer lacked essential signals. This made proper analytics and ad optimization impossible.
Work completed:
- Performed a full website audit and identified critical tracking issues.
- Prepared technical requirements for developers to implement the necessary dataLayer events.
- Configured a complete set of events (view_content, add_to_cart, purchase, etc.) via Google Tag Manager.
- Set up a server container and implemented the Conversion API using Google Cloud.
Result:
- Accurate tracking of all key events.
- Achieved 82% event matching through server-side data transmission.
- The site is fully prepared for analytics and advertising optimization in Facebook and Google.
