Server Side GTM, Meta CAPI, Cookie Consent on an Ecommerce Project

The task was to set up server-side tag tracking on an ecommerce project on Opencart.
The site was already hosted on a Hetzner VPS server, which partially simplified the task. There was no need to set up the main server from scratch.

The following work was done:
1. An additional proxy server and a preview server were set up on the main server.
2. Set up 3 additional tag servers for event processing.
3. The GTM and Meta libraries were moved to the server, which made it possible to increase the speed of the site.
4. Changed analytics tools to work with first-party cookies, which significantly extended the life of cookies in all browsers.
5. The transfer of user-provided data to Meta and GAds has been configured, which allows advertising systems to train advertising campaigns much better.

Cookie consent mode V2 was configured for users located in the EU.

All tasks set by the client have been completed. The client can sleep well, not worrying that by the end of 2024 Google will refuse to track 3rd party cookies.
