Script WritingA fog enveloped the entire space, intensifying the cold. His stomach twisted from hunger, but Mark did not close his eyes even for a moment — he would rather shoot himself in the forehead than show Moriami his weakness. Maybe he was a runner, but still, he was a Vespin.
Mark could not accept that he had been thrown back into the past, had a "4" knocked on his cheek, was called by the name given at birth, and returned to Evermore.
… But reality is cruel — he had already been kept in the basement for three days, and Lilia lay next to him. Mark did not dare to touch her to warm her up; he only covered her with his sweater and listened to her breathing. What tormented him the most was that she was here because of him — she had become a "bonus" to Nathaniel, his punishment for disobedience.
Rico wanted Lilia to go out on the court while sick, and it had already annoyed Mark so much that he snapped again — he hit Moriami with all his strength, trying to protect her, trampling his "crown" into the dirt. But now they were here.
Mark was a beaten Tezuki, and Lilia, deprived of all medicine, suffered from fever. This was their punishment. Punishment for protecting each other, punishment for disobedience.
Every time he saw Rico, Mark wanted to apologize for his audacity to help Lilia — he would swallow his pride, but each time he stopped himself, remembering her last words thrown at Moriami's face:
— Go complain, puppy.
He knew — Lilia would not forgive if Mark fell face-first into the dirt. So he held on.
Thoughts gnawed at him from the inside, his weakened body betrayed him, but Lilia's voice made him gather himself.
— Mark?
The voice was hoarse, exhausted, but still recognizable.
— What is it? — Mark asked calmly and turned to her, meeting her eyes.
— If that peacock comes again — hit him again, he’s annoying.
Mark grunted and moved a little closer.
— I will definitely.
They did not know how much time had passed since their imprisonment, did not know how many hours had gone by, but the door opened again, releasing the dampness of the basement outside.
In the darkness, only blue eyes were visible — they seemed to want to scorch everything alive in this world.
— Nathaniel, Lilia, get up.
Jean's voice sounded distant and did not immediately reach the consciousness of the exhausted.
— Your punishment is over. Tomorrow there will be training again.
Mark returned to the room alone; Lilia had to be taken to the infirmary to bring her back to her senses.
Having no strength and having achieved his goal, Mark collapsed onto the bed. He was shaking as if the cold still held him in its embrace and was not going to let go, but his eyelids were becoming heavier, and sleep engulfed him faster than the next alarm.
His body needed at least some rest after three days without sleep. Despite the dirty clothes soaked in blood, Mark fell asleep with thoughts of Lilia — and nothing else troubled him.
