  • Post for social media. Little joys of life.

Small joys make big days brighter. Today I paused for a moment to see the beauty around: flowers, children's laughter, warm sun. And I realized — happiness is nearby, it just needs to be noticed.

Yesterday I walked in the park and saw a lot of flowers there. It was warm and the sun was shining. I sat on a bench and watched the children playing and the dogs running around.

    Friendship, love, and first disappointments.

Once upon a time, there was a girl who had just turned 18 years old. She had not seen anything special in life, except for school and her parents' home. We lived, as it seemed to me, well: we were not rich, but we were not in need either. I had a friend, let's call her Masha.

And then the story began. An apartment was for sale next to our house — the previous owners were moving to Canada. The new residents arrived by car and started unloading their things. And then I saw him: blue eyes, light brown hair, tall — about a head taller than me. I fell in love at first sight.

Quietly, so that I wouldn't be noticed, I turned back home, my cheeks burning, and decided to share with Masha. I quickly ran to her, but on the way, I saw that she was already talking to him. My heart sank — Masha was bold and beautiful, while I had always been a quiet shadow. Lowering my head, I headed towards them.

    "Hi," I said quietly.
    "Oh, Diana!" my friend exclaimed.
It was him, Dima. When I saw his smile, I melted completely.

"Hi! Let's go somewhere to get to know each other better," Masha chirped.
"Okay, I don't mind," I was happy that they were taking me along.
    "Sure," Dima said.
    "Then right now?" Masha asked.
"Oh, I need to tell my folks," Dima said and left.

I watched him go and suddenly felt a nudge in my side — I was suspended in love.
"Do you like him?" I asked.
    "Not really..." Masha replied quietly.
    "Are you sure?"
    "Yes, for sure," she said.

We went for a walk. Dima paid a lot of attention to me, even more than to Masha. My happiness knew no bounds. Eventually, we started dating.

Everything was fine until summer ended and I had to go to school. I was worried, but he reassured me, kissed me on the forehead, and said, "We'll see each other on weekends."

But one day changed everything — two and a half months that we had been together. I, as always, ran to Masha's for tea and saw my boyfriend kissing my best friend. I ran out, my eyes saw nothing through the tears. I cried all day, ignoring everything around me. They called me, but I heard no one — I just ran home and stayed alone with my pain.

Later, Masha came to me, apologized, and informed me that she was pregnant by Dima. I whispered in shock, "How long?"
    "Eight weeks," she replied.
"But you said you didn't like him!" I shouted. It hurt me very much.

Dima never came to me. I didn't leave the house, and then I went to school. I hardly came home either. Two months later, I was invited to a wedding, which I did not attend.

Now everything is fine with me. I have a boyfriend, and this story is about childhood friendship, betrayal, and human meanness. It is completely fictional, any coincidences are accidental.

Skills: creative writing, emotional narrative, creating a full-fledged plot, working with long texts.
