Bilingualism for an online store on Wordpress+Woocommerce

The website is quite old, from 2016, with WP:4.3.28; WC: 2.4.7; PHP:5.6.40 installed.
It is necessary to implement bilingualism, currently the website is in Russian. (As a temporary solution, the Prisna plugin has been installed)
For implementation, most likely a "custom approach" is needed, however, something standard would also be acceptable but with full testing and a guarantee of "functionality".
A WPML license was purchased, but it was never installed by our own efforts, and in my opinion, it is too "heavy" for the site...
The main task is to implement the translation of the product card (without changing images when switching languages) and the user part of the site. After implementation, it is also necessary to configure the plugin for exporting the feed to Google Merchant in Ukrainian, currently this is implemented for Russian through WooFeed, but it can be done with another plugin.
Please note, the site is a bit of a "Frankenstein", it has gone through a lot over time and has many installations, so please leave your proposals if you are confident in your abilities )
It would be a plus if you also deal with optimization and can "revive" it a bit.
