We are looking for an illustrator for a book cover
This is NOT a permanent job, it is a one-time project
We are looking for a talented artist-illustrator (can use AI tools, but not necessarily) who can create a unique and marketable cover for a fiction book in the genre of fantasy / thriller / detective / romance.
About the project
The book is already written and is being prepared for publication. We need a cover that:
conveys an atmosphere of tension, intrigue, and emotions, attracts attention on shelves and online platforms, helps turn the book into a bestseller, looks professional and cinematic.
What I expect from the candidate
Experience in creating book covers or character illustrations (portfolio preferred).
Ability to work in genres: fantasy/thriller/romance.
Willingness to offer a creative approach, not just technical execution.
Ability to think compositionally and marketing-wise.
Test task (selection stage)
We will ask you to create a rough sketch of the book cover. We will attach several reference images for inspiration, but do not need to replicate them literally — on the contrary, we want to see your ideas.
A link to the book for review will be sent to those who are interested. The candidate will be able to read the introduction / key chapters or use chatgpt to better understand the atmosphere.
Payment is discussed individually.
