Interior reconstruction of the Skuldelev 5 boat
🔧 Project Goal:
Develop a complete set of production documentation and a 3D model of the reconstruction of the Skuldelev 5 boat, adapted for interior installation and manual manufacturing. The boat will be used as a stationary interior object where visitors can be accommodated.
📐 Main construction parameters:
Boat length: 14,000 mm
Width: 2,000 mm
Side height from the bottom: 858 mm
Maximum height (stern): up to 1,800 mm
Mast: 6,200 mm, vertical, removable
Structure division: into 3 parts of 4,600 mm for transportation
Permissible load: up to 20 persons (approximately 1,500–2,000 kg at the same time)
Materials:
Plywood Gabun Sperrholz 12 mm (cladding, decorative elements)
Wooden beam 50×50 mm and 100×100 mm (frame, reinforcement)

1. 3D model of the boat
Format: DWG or STEP
Complete visualization of the structure, including mast, frame, cladding, and decorative elements
Division into 3 transportable parts of 4,600 mm
Visualization of hidden fastenings and connection points
2. Manufacturing drawings (DWG + PDF)
General views (top, side, front)
Dimension chains, materials, thicknesses
Notes on joints and elements
3. Detailing of elements
Each plywood and wooden part with dimensions
Labeling of all elements
For plywood:
Placement on sheets 2500×1250 mm
Optional — preparation of DXF files for CNC cutting
For beams: specify length, cross-section, cut angles (if any)
Formats: DWG + PDF (optional DXF)
4. Assembly drawings
Step-by-step assembly instructions for the three modules
Indication of assembly order (from the first to the third module)
Connection nodes between modules (including hidden ones)
Fastening of the mast, dragon head, internal seats, and reinforcements
Format: PDF (if needed, DWG)

From 3–5 glued contours of plywood
Flat silhouette with an open mouth and decorative teeth
Mounted on the bow, removable, with a spike and fastener
🕳 Technical hatches for transportation:
Must include hidden hatches or cutouts at the base of each section
Sizes sufficient for lifting with a forklift or crane
Hatches should be concealed (decorative overlays or flush with the cladding)
📦 Features:
All elements should be designed for manual cutting and assembly
Fastening — concealed, removable (bolts, tongue-and-groove, furniture clamps)
The structure must be capable of repeated assembly and disassembly without damage
Four craftsmen will participate in assembly, production is carried out in a workshop (not a factory)
Ensure strength, precise joints, and the possibility of re-mounting
