3D model of a figurine for a constructor
It is necessary to create 3D models based on the provided visuals and prepare them for specific dimensions that we will provide.
Each model must have a hole at the bottom so that the figure can be placed on a building block. I will provide an example of the models and describe the attachment mechanics to make it clear how to implement this.
In total, up to 20 different figures will be needed.
Both options are required: without painting and with colored texture.
All figures are either cats or dogs (references are added below).
Project Description
It is necessary to create up to 20 unique 3D models of animal figurines (cats and dogs) based on provided visual references. The models will be used for plastic injection molding, so they must meet the technical requirements of production.
Main Requirements for Models
- Compatibility with building sets. Each figurine must have a hole (or a system of holes) at the bottom compatible with standard building set pegs. The attachment dimensions — standard peg 4.8 mm diameter, 8 mm pitch. Exact dimensions will be agreed upon before starting work.
- Preparation for molding (preferably):
- Uniform wall thickness (recommended 1.5–2.5 mm, without sharp transitions).
- Presence of draft angles of at least 1–2° on vertical surfaces for easy removal from the mold.
- Absence of undercuts, or if they are necessary, taking into account removable inserts in the mold.
- Rounding of sharp corners and edges (radii from 0.5 mm).
- Provide a location for the gate — preferably at the bottom or in an inconspicuous place.
- Avoid massive areas (sink marks) — use ribs for stiffness if necessary.
- Two variants of each model (preferably):
- Without painting (monochrome model, ready for molding from solid plastic).
- With color texture (UV unwrap + texture map for visualizing the final appearance; can be used for pad printing or manual painting).
- Sizes of figurines: will be provided separately for each model. Estimated height — 25–40 mm (to be confirmed).
- File formats:
- STL / STEP / IGES — for mold production.
- OBJ / FBX with UV unwrap — for textured versions.
- Source files in working software format (Blender / ZBrush / SolidWorks, etc.).

We add examples of the style of the figurines (see images). All figurines are stylized, "cartoonish" cats and dogs with soft shapes, close to the style of mini-figures of building sets.

Основні вимоги до моделей
- Сумісність із конструкторами. Кожна фігурка має мати знизу отвір (або систему отворів), сумісний зі стандартними шипами конструкторів. Розміри кріплення — стандартний шип 4,8 мм діаметр, крок 8 мм. Точні розміри узгоджуємо перед початком роботи.
- Підготовка під лиття (injection molding) (бажано):
- Рівномірна товщина стінок (рекомендовано 1,5–2,5 мм, без різких перепадів).
- Наявність технологічних ухилів (draft angles) мінімум 1–2° на вертикальних поверхнях для легкого виймання з прес-форми.
- Відсутність підрізів (undercuts), або, якщо вони необхідні, — з урахуванням роз'ємних вставок у прес-формі.
- Скруглення гострих кутів та ребер (радіуси від 0,5 мм).
- Передбачити місце для точки впуску (gate location) — бажано знизу або в непомітному місці.
- Уникати масивних ділянок (sink marks) — при необхідності використовувати ребра жорсткості.
- Два варіанти кожної моделі (бажано):
- Без фарбування (одноколірна модель, готова до лиття з однотонного пластику).
- З кольоровою текстурою (UV-розгортка + текстурна карта для візуалізації фінального вигляду; може використовуватись для тамподруку або ручного розфарбовування).
- Розміри фігурок: будуть надані окремо для кожної моделі. Орієнтовна висота — 25–40 мм (уточнюємо).
- Формат файлів:
- STL / STEP / IGES — для виробництва прес-форми.
- OBJ / FBX з UV-розгорткою — для текстурованих версій.
- Вихідні файли у форматі робочого софту (Blender / ZBrush / SolidWorks тощо).
