News Article Annotation for Event Extraction
You are tasked with annotating the 1,000 news articles from a dataset for future use in event extraction. The dataset contains news articles related to geopolitical, political, military, economic, and social events. Your job is to manually annotate event types and relevant entities within each article using the guidelines below.
Each article may contain multiple events, and you will need to categorize each event according to the event types provided. Additionally, for each event, annotate key entities such as people, organizations, dates, and locations.
The goal of this annotation task is to create a high-quality dataset that will be used to train models for automatic event extraction. Make sure the annotations are detailed and accurate as they will be used for future machine learning applications.
Requirements:
- English - All articles written in English language
- Experience in text annotation or natural language processing
(NLP).
- Familiarity with tools like Prodigy, BRAT, or other annotation
software.
- Knowledge of event extraction in geopolitical contexts is a plus.
