We are starting a new brand of certified USDA Organic henna powder and I am looking for someone to design our product packaging (and a logo? Do we really need one??) - later, if the design(s) are successful, there will be more work creating graphics for the new brand's website (e.g. supply-chain infographics) as well as other marketing materials.
We want our product's packaging to show our story: a simple, single-ingredient product (100% henna powder) from a single-source (small family farm in India), the farm is fully USDA certified to both grow and process its small (but 3rd-party lab tested) crop of henna. Unlike our competition, we can prove and show our USDA Organic certifications and APEDA transaction certificates so that customers can trace our product all the way back to our farm. Our success depends on showing that story. Single Origin, USDA Organic, Laboratory Tested, Fully Traceable.
Other details:
We're targeting urban consumers (first in the USA but later in East Asia) who are looking for alternatives to synthetic hair dyes, who prefer natural products, organic foods etc. Our customers are *not* motivated by high-fashion or otherwise pretentious beauty products. Read that again.
We want to use recyclable kraft-paper pouches (120 x 200 mm) not because of cost but because we feel the kraft-paper is consistent with our product's organic nature and our target customer's aversion to fancy, pretentious beauty products. We want a design which incorporates the kraft-paper and its color.
