Вже відомо і іспитано дуже багато датчиків на удар. Відомі самі елементи, на базі яких будуються модулі. Як правило це сам датчик та контролер що обробляє сигнал з датчика. Але в залежності від конкретної задачі можуть входити і додаткові вузли. Наприклад DC/DC та інші. Вибір елементів та схема залежить від задачі, яку вирішують. Проходить іспит датчик, який використовує штучний інтелект (адаптація до середовища, самоналаштування).

Є проект пристрою, на основі п'єзодатчика, де чутливість міняється програмно, за допомогою програматора (без перекомпіляції прошивки). Також реалізована функція зовнішнього керування та таймер самоактивації (якщо зіткнення не було впродовж тривалого часу. Час самоактивації також міняється). Особливістю проекту є схема виходу, яка мінімізує випадкову активацію в наслідок апаратних або програмних дефектів пристрою. Декілька прототипів було зібрано і протестовано майже рік тому, але до серійного виробництва справа тоді не дійшла. Зараз працюю над виготовленням тестової партії.
Також є напівготовий проект такого ж пристрою, але на акселерометрі.
