Calculation of the aircraft model

1. General project description

It is necessary to carry out the engineering design of the aircraft model with a focus on:

• layout,
• aerodynamic processing,
• calculations of flight characteristics.

The project is being carried out at the conceptual stage and preliminary engineering calculations.

2. Scope of work

2.1 Layout

• Selection and justification of the scheme (high-wing / low-wing / mid-wing, classic / V-tail, etc.)
• Placement of main components:
  • wing
  • fuselage
  • horizontal and vertical stabilizers
  • powerplant (electric or combustion engine - to be agreed)
  • payload
• Center of gravity (CG) and range of acceptable positions

2.2 Aerodynamics

• Selection of wing profiles (root / tip)
• Wing geometry:
  • span
  • area
  • aspect ratio
  • sweep (if applicable)
  • twist
• Calculation of aerodynamic characteristics:
  • Cl, Cd, Cm
  • polar
  • quality (L/D)
• Stability analysis:
  • longitudinal
  • lateral
  • directional

2.3 Calculations in software

• Perform calculations in XFLR5 or equivalent software (AVL, OpenVSP + analysis, etc.)
• Provide:
  • project files
  • screenshots or graphs of results
  • explanations of accepted assumptions

3. Output data (to be clarified in communication)

4. Results to be delivered

• Description of the layout solution (text + diagrams)
• Aerodynamic calculations and graphs
• Conclusions regarding:
  • flight characteristics
  • stability
  • expected advantages and limitations
• Model files for XFLR5 (or other software)
• Short engineering report

7. Additional

• The project does not require detailed design documentation for production at this stage
• Further collaboration possible (detailing, CFD, optimization)
