I ordered an SEO audit, received a list of errors, many of which lack clear recommendations for correction. I was very dissatisfied. I had to open a dispute for the freelancer to answer questions about the audit. But in the end, he just beat around the bush and still did not answer the questions.
What exactly is wrong:
1) The performer refused to check whether we implemented the changes correctly or not. I have ordered SEO audits many times, but this is the first time I encountered such a situation.
2) Refused to answer clarifying questions about the audit, although he wrote that he would do so within a month after completing the work. This is the first time I see this when working with a freelancer or companies providing such services.
3) A lot of template text, for example: you have redirects in CSS and JS, but it turns out there are none; he just didn’t remove this part from his template audit. And this is just one example.
4) In the file, you will get a list of obvious things (almost the entire audit). For example, if you give him access to Google Analytics and Google Search Console, he will write in the audit:
"Based on the website analysis, among the basic services used for promotion, the following services are connected:
Google Search Console
Google Analytics."
The price of the audit is not high, but the goal is for you to pay him money and receive a list of errors that you will not be able to implement without an SEO specialist because he deliberately did not provide a solution.
And then he responds with such template phrases to each question:
"This problem is solved within the framework of regular SEO specialist work."
If you have an in-house SEO specialist, then you do not need the audit. If you do not have one, then you do not need the audit because without it, your developer will not be able to fix the errors as there are no clear recommendations for their correction.
