У Вашому випадку краще з нуля все зробити, використати можна частину функцій сайту що є . При цьому якість коду буде на рівень краще , що відзначитися на роботі сайту.
А городити новий дизайн на минулому сайті це не особливо вдале .

Він не є старим. Це новий сайт зроблений 2 місяці тому, але дизайн все ж вирішили знову переробити, так як цей в готовому результаті не подобається. Функціонал новий не придумовували, так як дизайн розроблявся відразу як зробився сайт на основі вже готового фуніка.

Ну Вам для об'єктивної оцінки потрібно буде надати доступ до сайту , щоб можна було подивитися як все зроблено , що використано в якості додаткових полів , які плагіни додаткові є в роботі та ін.
Оскільки це вукомерс , то часто мав не приємний досвід в тому що минулий розробник городив бог знає що . Вукомерс це плагін який кастомізується хуками , і хороший магазин це мінімальне втручання в самі шаблони сторінок вукомерсу
