DaVinci Resolve / Fusion expert — creating a keyframed wave generator (BPM + neon glow)
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
An expert in DaVinci Resolve / Blackmagic Fusion is needed to create a universal procedural generator of sinusoidal waves as an overlay. It should be easy to overlay on any video in Resolve and animate in real-time using keyframes to match the rhythm of breathing.
The project is intended for premium meditation / breathwork videos, so the visual style should be clean, modern, and elegant.
WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE
Create a Fusion Macro / Template that works inside DaVinci Resolve and generates an animated sinusoidal line on a transparent background (alpha).
IMPORTANT LAYER REQUIREMENT
The wave should be used as a separate overlay clip on a track above the main video
(for example: wave — Video Track 2, video — Video Track 1).
The wave should not change if I scale, pan, or animate the main video clip.
I want to scale the video with me — not the wave.
MANDATORY CONTROLS (USER-ACCESSIBLE IN RESOLVE)
Animation / Timing
- BPM (keyframed) — number of cycles per minute (temporal frequency)
- Wave movement speed (keyframed — preferred) — how fast the pattern moves across the screen (regardless of BPM)
- Direction — left to right / right to left
Wave Shape
- Amplitude / height (keyframed) — how high or flat the wave is (default — flatter)
- Wavelength / density — number of waves across the width of the screen
Appearance
- Color selection
- Line thickness
- Transparency
- X / Y position (placement of the wave on the screen)
NEON GLOW (MANDATORY)
The line cannot be just flat.
A delicate neon effect is needed — a soft glow with a smooth falloff of brightness around the line.
Style: premium, restrained, without overexposure and a "cheap" look.
Mandatory glow controls:
- Glow intensity
- Glow radius / size
KEYFRAMING REQUIREMENT (NO COMPROMISES)
The BPM and Amplitude parameters must be fully keyframable in Resolve so that I can create any patterns:
- pauses
- smooth increases
- accelerations and decelerations
Demo confirmation:
The demo project must include an example of smooth animation with holds and ramps to show that the controls work correctly.
DELIVERABLES
1. Fusion Macro / Template that installs and works correctly in a new Resolve project
2. DaVinci Resolve demo project with an example of using the macro over video and animated parameters
3. Brief installation and usage instructions
RESTRICTIONS
- Only built-in Resolve / Fusion tools
- No third-party plugins without prior approval
- Correct rendering in 4K with good anti-aliasing
QUALITY AND PERFORMANCE
- Clean edges (no flickering)
- Adequate performance during playback
- Optimized glow
- Stable and clean render
ADDITIONAL (NOT MANDATORY)
- Phase / Offset — wave shift without changing BPM
- Link mode (On / Off) — BPM can affect the wavelength and/or amplitude (manual control must remain accessible)
SCREENING QUESTION
Have you created Fusion Macros / Templates with parameters that can be keyframed directly in DaVinci Resolve?
If so — describe one example and provide a link.
