Images: I will write a script that will scan the file system and compare files with records in the database. "Extra" images will first be moved to a quarantine folder (so you can ensure that nothing unnecessary is lost), and only then will we delete them permanently.
Backup: I will definitely make a backup of the database before starting the work.
I will do the work as a one-time procedure, as writing a module for this is excessive — garbage accumulates slowly, and there is no need to run the cleanup every day.
