We are interested in creating a table for ordering complex lunches. I will try to formulate a clear technical task. Unfortunately, I do not often use Google Sheets, so I may formulate something incorrectly in the request; we will make adjustments as needed.
The client's company is divided into departments (subdivisions). Each employee knows which subdivision they belong to. The menu must be filled out by the employee every Friday for the following week. At a specific agreed time with the client, we will disable the ability to make adjustments for the next week.
Thus, the selection of dishes begins with choosing the subdivision in which they work and filling in their first and last name. Later, they choose which first dish, meat/fish, porridge, salad, dessert. Each selection option must have a dropdown menu. For example, you select the column with soups, click on the dropdown menu, and choose one of 4 soups. The week must have 5 days of menu. We do not deliver dishes on Saturday and Sunday. The employee must have the option not to fill in any of the dishes (for example, they do not want a salad).
Each day the dishes must be different; accordingly, we need to have some file or tab in the same table from which the dishes will be pulled into the main table (this would be ideal to implement). This tab must be closed to everyone except a few employees of the client. Prices will also be listed there, so we will multiply the price by the number of dishes ordered, according to the actual orders.
Importantly, at the bottom of the table, there must be cells that will account for how many of each dish need to be made. For example, 23 employees chose soup with meatballs, 17 cream soup, 19 Spanish soup, etc. (this is needed for forming the final order for the kitchen).
This simplifies the task, as we have a template that the client is already working with as an example, and I am attaching screenshots for you.
Also, is it possible to pre-fill the data of employees and subdivisions but allow each specific employee to only edit their own row? This is not critical, but it would be great if it were possible.
