Reverse engineering of a fastener (coupling) for packaging equipment
Restoration of a broken plastic element (connecting fastener) for an industrial pallet stretch film packaging mechanism.
The model has a specific shape with side protrusions (ears) for fixation in the moving assembly. The main technical requirement is the precise reproduction of the internal mounting hole for a metal hexagonal shaft (8 mm). Correct tolerances have been selected so that the part fits tightly on the shaft and does not wear down the edges during rotation.
An accurate CAD model has been created, fully ready for 3D printing with durable engineering plastic (e.g., PETG, ABS, or Nylon). This allowed for a quick repair of the working assembly of the machine without the need to order and wait for the original spare part.
Autodesk Fusion 360.
