SEO audit and competitor analysis for an online store

Task

The team approached with the task of increasing organic traffic and improving the website's positions in Google. The main goal was to conduct an SEO audit, identify growth points, analyze competitors, and develop a promotion strategy for the Ukrainian and international markets.

The analysis used the Serpstat tool, which allowed assessing the website's visibility, semantic core, competitors' positions, and growth potential.

As a result of the SEO audit, several key factors were identified that hindered further growth of the website.

Among them:

- a portion of important keywords was on the verge of entering the top-10 Google;
- new popular queries did not have separate optimized pages;
- insufficient localization for the Polish and German markets;
- high competition for commercial queries;
- absence of separate SEO categories for promising product groups;
- lack of structured data for products.

Due to this, the website was losing potential traffic and part of its clients to competitors.

Competitor Analysis

A separate stage involved researching the main competitors in the niche.

The following was studied:

- the number of shared keywords;
- organic visibility;
- positions in Google;
- category structure;
- content strategies;
- traffic sources.

The analysis allowed finding additional search queries and semantic clusters that had not been previously used on the website.

Completed Work

Based on the obtained data, a promotion strategy was prepared.

Main areas of work:

- optimization of pages that were near the top-10;
- creation of new landing pages for promising key queries;
- updating Titles, H1, and meta descriptions;
- expanding the catalog structure;
- setting up internal linking;
- implementing Schema.org for products;
- preparing a multilingual SEO structure;
- localizing content for international markets;
- regular monitoring of positions and competitive environment.

Results

After implementing the recommendations, the website experienced significant growth in organic visibility.

Achieved results:

- the number of keywords in the top-10 Google significantly increased;
- new search queries appeared in the index;
- presence in international markets was expanded;
- the catalog structure for search engines was improved;
- structured data for products was implemented;
- potential organic traffic was increased;
- a foundation for further scaling of SEO promotion was created.

Conclusion

A comprehensive SEO audit and competitor analysis helped sportbike.ua identify hidden growth points and form a clear development strategy. Thanks to technical and content optimization, the website strengthened its positions in search engines, expanded audience reach, and gained additional opportunities for attracting clients from organic search both in Ukraine and in international markets.
