Engineering design of a metal staircase with solid beech finishing | Complete set of working documentation
I develop metal staircases as finished engineering structures, fully suitable for manufacturing and installation without additional modifications.
The presented staircase is made on channel stringers with finishing from glued solid beech without knots and glass railing.
The design combines the calculated rigidity of the metal frame and high visual culture of the product.
Structural scheme
The load-bearing system consists of:
— stringers made of channel No. 14
— base of the landing made of channel No. 14
— welded frame of the steps made of angle 35×3 mm
— welded spatial scheme with rigid connection of all elements
Metal elements are cut at calculated angles for rational use of material and minimization of waste.
Wooden part
The finishing is made of glued beech without knots:
— tread thickness of 40 mm, depth of 300 mm
— riser thickness of 20 mm
— step height calculated according to the ergonomics of ascent
— load-bearing posts of the railing made of beam 95×95 mm
— lower guides 95×95 mm
— handrail 95×95 mm with milling for the hand
All elements are glued at the joints of step-riser.
Installation is performed on sound insulation tape using polyurethane sealants, which eliminates the appearance of squeaks during shrinkage and seasonal changes in humidity.
Railing
— filling with satin glass 9 mm thick
— fastening through specialized clamping holders
— silicone spacers for compensation of micro-deformations
— absence of direct contact between glass and wood
— upper railing around the opening is made similarly to the side sections
Engineering part
The staircase is designed with consideration for comfortable ergonomics of ascent.
The geometry is formed in an accurate spatial model and fully complies with the agreed requirements.
The design provides:
— rigidity of the flight and landing
— correct load transfer
— stability of geometry in operation
— ease of assembly
— absence of conflicts during installation
Within the project, the following is performed:
— formation of a complete 3D model
— development of the metal frame
— detailing of nodes
— working out dimensions and references
— specification of metal and wood
— preparation of a set of working sheets
The project is developed in a format suitable directly for production manufacturing — without the need for additional modifications.
