Text Translation
Localization and translation of the official user manual for the New Nintendo 3DS gaming console from Japanese to Ukrainian.
This case demonstrates my work with highly complex technical texts, where accuracy of formulations, preservation of original content, and adaptation of specific terminology for the Ukrainian consumer are important.
… What was done within the project:
In-depth work with terminology: Accurate translation of the names of technical elements of the device (analog sticks, cameras, status indicators, infrared ports, NFC zones).
Interface localization: Correct translation of system messages, menu settings items of the console, and step-by-step instructions for the user (for example, the process of first startup, parental control setup, and network connection).
Text adaptation: Maintaining a concise and clear style, which is critically important for technical instructions and user manuals.
Contextual work: Considering the specifics of the Nintendo brand (preservation of original markings, compatibility of accessories, and power specifications).
