3D model of a collectible figurine for printing (FDM, multicolor, breakdown into parts)
Looking for a 3D artist to create a professional, print-ready 3D model of a collectible figurine (height 15–25 cm).
The preliminary character design has already been approved — there are color renders, turnaround from all sides, and a test print. There is also a rough model (from mesh.ai) — just for understanding the shape, it needs to be remodeled or cleaned up.
The main task is to create a clean production model, broken down into separate parts by colors (each for its own filament color), with precise connections so that everything fits together without gaps and prints well on Bambu Lab.
What needs to be done
Breakdown into parts by colors (4–6 pcs.):
- Head (face, spiral curl, "bump" on the crown, eye sockets)
- Body / clothing (torso + arms)
- Legs
- Shoes
- Separate eye inserts (2 pcs.), glossy
Connections:
- "Swallowtail" / pin-slot at cut locations (neck, waist), with a connecting lip without gaps
- The head connects only in one position (asymmetric key)
- Fit gap 0.2–0.3 mm (parts are glued)
Eyes: real sockets (with a lip for fixation) + separate lens inserts that slightly protrude; maintain a slight asymmetry of the gaze.
"Bump" on the head: shorter, softer, with a rounded top.
For printing: each part — a separate watertight/manifold mesh; stability — only by geometry, without weights; clean retopology; minimal supports.
Result
- Files STL for each part (with logical names)
- Assembled preview (all parts are connected, seams without gaps)
- Ready project in Bambu Studio with parts laid out on plates by colors
- 1–2 rounds of revisions
Requirements for the performer
- Confident in ZBrush and/or Blender
- Experience in preparing models specifically for FDM printing (wall thickness, overhangs, gaps) — not just for rendering
- Portfolio of printed figurines / art toys (preferably multi-colored)
- Plus: Bambu Studio / Bambu Lab, multi-material printing (AMS)
In your application, please specify:
- Portfolio (especially — actually printed figurines, not just renders)
- Deadline
- Cost for this figurine (and, if desired, rate for subsequent ones)
