A growing bookkeeping and tax preparation firm, is seeking an English speaking, reliable, detail-oriented, and self-driven Accounting & Payroll Specialist to manage client bookkeeping operations and support payroll and accounting functions using QuickBooks Online (QBO).
This role requires someone who can work independently, communicate professionally, evaluate accounting records, and maintain accurate financial systems for multiple businesses.
The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and capable of taking ownership of client accounts while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Client Accounting Management
- Manage bookkeeping for assigned clients using QuickBooks Online.
- Review, categorize, and reconcile financial transactions accurately.
- Maintain general ledgers and ensure financial records are complete and organized.
- Prepare monthly financial reports and assist with month-end closing.
- Identify discrepancies and resolve accounting issues proactively.
Client Communication & Qualification
- Assess client bookkeeping needs and help identify missing records or accounting issues.
- Maintain professional relationships and respond to client inquiries in a timely manner.
- Support onboarding of new clients and help evaluate the scope of accounting services required.
Payroll Administration
- Process payroll data in QuickBooks Online based on approved payroll information.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and supporting documentation.
- Assist with payroll reporting and ensure compliance with payroll procedures.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all employee payroll information.
Accounting Operations
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Maintain organized digital files and accounting documentation.
- Assist with preparation of financial information for tax filing and reporting.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial recordkeeping.
- Experience with QuickBooks Online preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple client accounts independently.
- Comfortable communicating professionally with business owners and clients.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency with Excel and financial data management.
- Highly organized and capable of managing routine accounting tasks efficiently.
- Dependable, proactive, and able to work with minimal supervision.
Preferred:
- Experience in bookkeeping, accounting support, or payroll administration.
- Experience working with small-to-mid-size business clients.
