I have been developing architectural schemes for GIS systems on AWS, including projects with the integration of IoT devices and spatial data analytics. Recently, I worked on a solution where data from field sensors was processed through AWS IoT Core and used for environmental monitoring with visualization.
Considering your request regarding the architecture of the GIS system based on GeoNode, I see that you are planning a comprehensive solution with four logical layers. Your concept is very well structured. I would suggest a few additional components to enhance the reliability and scalability of the system. In particular, it is worth considering the use of AWS CloudWatch for centralized monitoring of all components, implementing AWS WAF for protecting APIs and web interfaces, as well as AWS Secrets Manager for securely storing confidential data. For real-time analytics, I also recommend considering AWS Kinesis as an alternative to direct streaming to Timestream.
What are the priorities for your system - scalability, cost-effectiveness, or speed of development? I am also curious if you have specific requirements regarding the level of detail of the architectural scheme and the timeline for its development?
