I am creating a children's guidebook about Iceland for children aged 5–18 years.
This is not a classic fairy tale. It is a book for a large family's journey to Iceland.
The format of the book is a journey: the child finds themselves in different places (moss, glaciers, waterfalls, lava fields), and in each place, there is a short text—a mix of story, observation, and light magic.
I need an author who can write a series of such texts.
Important: this is not a "once upon a time" fairy tale and not overloaded literature.
A lively, simple, atmospheric style is needed.
For the project, 7 stories need to be written (approximately 300 words each).
Each text:
— is related to a specific natural place in Iceland
— creates a feeling that the child is "inside"
— contains a light element of magic (for example, elves), but without overload
Mandatory Test Assignment
Before selecting a performer, please complete a short test assignment.
Write a text of 150–200 words on one of the topics:
— Icelandic moss
— glaciers
— lava fields
— waterfalls
Test Requirements:
— the text must be lively and light
— short, clear sentences
— a feeling of "this is happening now"
— dialogue or observation can be used
— no moral at the end
— no overloaded descriptions
Important:
This is not a literary competition for "the most beautiful text".
Better a simple, lively, and precise text than a complex and overloaded one.
When selecting a performer, I will look at:
— how easily the text is read
— whether there is a feeling of "a living scene"
— whether there is no overload with descriptions
— how suitable the text is for children
Working Conditions
After selecting the author:
— the work will be divided into stages
— payment for texts by agreement
Attached is a complete description of the book project.
