I propose to work on the top template Astra (https://wpastra.com/) - clean, lightweight, free of bugs (over 2 million sites on the web), with excellent support. About 300 starter layouts to choose from, both free and Premium (I have an unlimited full license, so if the choice is in favor of Pro, there will be no need to purchase). I will help with the selection of the layout.
If desired, I will install the "classic" editor and "classic" widgets. By default, there is the block editor Gutenberg, which can coexist with the classic one. For cases where something elaborate needs to be done, Elementor can be used.
Several options for blog archive pages - simple and "beautiful."
For multilingual support, I will install Polylang, the free version - for the blog, it is more than enough, and the choice of languages is unlimited. The language switcher in the top menu can also be duplicated in the footer.
I will create the header-footer in the style of the main site, up to almost exact copying.
