Unified tag pages (Tag Hub) for all types of WordPress content with indexing in Google

On the WordPress site, the same "tag" (WP taxonomy tags) is used across different types of content:

• product pages (custom post type, for example products)

• regular posts (post)

• forum topics (forum plugin, for example bbPress or another)

• other possible CPTs

It is necessary to implement logic so that when clicking on any tag from any part of the site, a single common page for that tag opens, which:

• is automatically generated

• has a permanent URL

• is indexed by Google

• collects all materials with that tag across different types of content into one screen

Example: I click on the tag “Cable Oil” on the product page or in a post or on the forum and get a single collected page for the tag Cable Oil with blocks by content types.

2) What should be on the tag page

The tag page should display content in sections

1. Page title (HTML title)

• contains the tag name

• example: Cable Oil or Cable Oil – <Site Name>

2. H1

• tag name

• example: Cable Oil

3. H2 section “Products”

• H2 header: Products with the tag Cable Oil

• below a list of products (name, link, optionally a short description or image)

4. H2 section “Posts”

• H2 header: Posts with the tag Cable Oil

• below a list of posts

5. H2 section “Forum”

• H2 header: Forum topics with the tag Cable Oil

• below a list of forum topics

If there are no materials in any type of content, the section can be hidden or display the text “Nothing found”.

3) URL and indexing rules

• Each tag must have a unique URL that can be accessed directly

• URL format example:

  /type/cable-oil/

• The page must return HTTP 200

• Must not have noindex

• Must be accessible for crawling by bots

4) Click behavior on the tag from any part of the site

Currently, tags can lead to different places (archives for posts, forum pages, etc.). It is necessary to ensure that:

• clicking on a tag always leads to a new Hub page for that tag

• this must work for:

  • tags in the product template

  • tags in posts

  • tags in the forum

  • tags in widgets, lists, where they are displayed

5) Technical requirements

• Implementation through functions.php code or a separate plugin, or ACF without heavy builders

• Support for all necessary post types: products, post, and forum topics (bbpress)
