Скорее всего проблема в том, что настройки .htaccess конфликтуют с настройками самого опенкарта. если шо - обращайтесь

Настройки опенкарта, повторюсь, сделаны правильно, в админке ссл включен!

есть еще config где прописаны адреса для обоих протоколов, опенкарт прописывает при установке по умолчанию одинаковые адреса для обоих протоколов. в этом случае сам опенкарт при обнаружении ссылки с https выполняет переадресацию на http поэтому и ходит по кругу

есть еще config в нем прописаны адреса для обоих протоколов. эти адреса опенкарт при установке прописывает одинаковые по умолчанию. в таком случае получив ссылку https опенкарт переадресовывает на http, а .htaccess опять переадресует на https. Так они и бегают по кругу
